This year promises to be a rewarding one for the fervent movie goers and the Mumbai film industry with some big releases lined up in the queue. The most awaited among them is the directorial extravaganza of Karan Johar titled "My Name is Khan" slated to release in February. The film marks return of Karan Johar as the director after a gap of 4 years and also reuniting the hit onscreen pair of Shahrukh Khan and Kajol.

The film is being constantly talked about in the media and is expected to create records. The ongoing battle for supremacy among three stalwarts of industry (Aamir, Shahrukh, and Salman) will be on cloud nine after releasing of MNIK. Both Salman and Aamir have already tried their luck at the box office in the name of "Three Idiots" and "Veer" respectively. With Three Idiots generally garnered positive reviews and collections, Veer had somewhat lukewarm response from all corners. This has increased the expectations of My Name is Khan with the rumors of an ongoing battle for supremacy among the Khan"s.

Like a true follower of Yash Chopra, Karan Johar too relies heavily on love stories in his movies albeit in a different way. Thus, we can expect what is coming our way with MNIK and we would be too imaginative if we are expecting something else from the director. The music, as always with KJo is hitting the right vibes and is topping the charts and is composed by the talented trio of Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy.

Apart from being a love story, the film also deals with issues related to terrorism and asperger syndrome. The main protagonist of the film Rizwan (Shahrukh Khan) suffers from Asperger syndrome (a mild form of autism) and is also recipient of the indifferent attitude by the U.S. authorities and public to Muslim inhabitant"s post 9/11 terror attack. All these form the backdrop to the love story of the protagonists which is said to be the heart of the movie. Shahrukh and Kajol will be seen romancing each other onscreen after a long gap of 9 years, so people are eagerly awaiting the movie. As Shahrukh Khan quotes about the movie: "the movie is not about terrorism, or 9/11. It"s about a relationship between two people, between an individual and the State, and between an individual and the country. In short, there the three important components: love story, Islam and a mild form of autism."

The movie is also in news for the alleged detention of Shahrukh Khan at the airport in the US during the shooting of the movie there. Despite the clarifications by the actor the issue was hot favorite among the media in India. The issue is getting more attention now as the theme of the movie is also reflective of the incident. Thus, the movie jointly produced by Shahrukh"s production house with Karan"s Dharma production releasing this February has the potential to create history at the box office.
